Sean Bai: “We are going to continue working hard to have a team that brings the fans joy"
Sean Bai, Director General of Valencia CF, was in attendance alongside Samu Castillejo at the presentation of the new signing. He spoke briefly to begin the event, with a message to Valencianistas about the club's intentions for the season.
Good morning everyone and thank you very much for being here today. Today we are gathered here to present Samu Castillejo. It is great news for us to have a player of such quality, who has made a very important effort to come here to play for our team. He is a player whom the club, with Corona leading the way, have been working on signing for months, and who is also to the liking of our coach. This is an example of how we work in an aligned way, based on consensus, as we have previously discussed.
Samu made his Primera División debut at Mestalla, and he scored his first goal against us. Now, his challenge is to score many goals for us. As he said, he was destined to play for Valencia CF and we are very happy about his arrival.
With Samu, we continue adding competitiveness to the team, as we have already said.
Likewise, we had said that now is the time for actions, rather than words, and that is what we want to continue doing. But I also want to send a positive message to our fans:
We want to convey to you that we will continue to work hard on the sporting side to have a team that brings you joy. We will continue to look for the best possible options for this.
In another matter, we are optimistic about the progress being made for the new stadium, after our agreement with the city council and the modification of the project in which we are already working, which we will present to the city council in the coming weeks. As we have always said, we want to work hand-in-hand with the institutions to carry out an emblematic and important project for the club and the city.
Also, today marks the end of the period for new season ticket registrations, with more than 4,500 new recipients joining the more than 30,000 who have already renewed their season ticket. Today is the final day. It is a very simple process but, just in case, if any fans are unable to do it today, they can come to the club and we can resolve their situation.
Yesterday we presented the away kit, which like the first is reaching record sales numbers.
As part of our efforts for closeness with the fans and the press, in preseason we have already organised some open training sessions. We will organise a session at the Puchades stadium after the Trofeo Naranja as the last 'push' for the team before the start of the league season. We will continue working with the team to start the season in the best possible conditions, together with the fans.
We are very grateful to our fans and we want to continue demonstrating, with actions, that they are the heart of Valencia CF, and that we want to share moments of great joy with them. Now, we give the floor to the protagonist of the day, our new player: Samu Castillejo. Welcome Samu, and Amunt Valencia!
